Zachary Quinto and Leonard Nimoy from Star Trek have some fun with Mr. Spock — old and new.
Zachary Quinto and Leonard Nimoy have worked together professionally and have a lot of respect for each other. Here’s a short (commercial) clip that they did for Audi; and it looks like they had a lot of fun with it. You be the judge!
Sadly, Nimoy died on February 27, 2015, at his California home. He was, of course, the original “Mr. Spock” in the Star Trek 60’s TV series, the original three Star Trek movies, and beyond.
Zachary Quinto was cast as the new Spock in the 2009 Star Trek movie and met Nimoy at that point. Nimoy had a cameo role in that movie. Thereafter, Zachary Quinto and Nimoy made regular appearances together. They appeared at the San Diego Comic-Con, on a number of talk shows and more. Zachary Quinto, Nimoy and Chris Pine appeared together in a Justin Timbelake-hosted episode of “Saturday Night Live”. And he and Zachary Quinto co-starred in the video that’s featured on this page at Catch The Film. Zachary Quinto was born in Pittsburgh, and grew up in Green Tree, Pennsylvania. He graduated from Central Catholic High School in Pittsburgh, PA (in 1995) where he won the Gene Kelly Award for Best Supporting Actor. He also attended Carnegie Mellon University and graduated from their School of Drama in 1999.
Shortly after Nimoy’s death, Quinto Instagrammed a photo of his departed friend and wrote “My heart is broken. I love you profoundly my dear friend. and i will miss you everyday. May flights of angels sing thee to thy rest.”
