Zach Galifianakis has made a strong contribution to the success of The Hangover movie franchise.
Although The Hangover is a story about three young “dudes” having the experience of their lives, it’s likely the shorter dude with the beard (Alan) is the one that actually stuck in your head. That’s Zach Galifianakis. His film performance was amazingly and awkwardly calm, just like his approach to comedy.
Zach Galifianakis, born an American with Greek origins, is one of the most well-known comedians in America today. He built his success both on stand-up comedy and movies. Galifianakis has been in the entertainment business since 1996 doing smaller acting roles and stand-up comedy. It seem like he was in no rush for fame, as he pursued what he liked doing best — comedy, in all its forms. He appreciates humor that’s based on everyday events, current lifestyle events or self-deprecation. Then there was The Hangover franchise. And that catapulted Zack to the next level … essentially the “A List” set of comedians and comedic actors. He is now very well known worldwide. His incredible role in The Hangover also brought him an MTV Movie Award for Best Comedic Performance. Apparently, he hit the jackpot with his rather innocent looking and calm character that always ended up doing the most unexpected things.
As a young man, he wasn’t the brightest bulb on the block, not being able to graduate from North Carolina State University. But it didn’t matter, because his talent for being funny took him very far; without the assistance of a University diploma.
Zach Galifianakis’ personal style of not rushing things can be seen throughout his personal life; and in Alan in The Hangover. Even when the other characters were panicking, Alan always remained calm, staying true to his unique brand of “chill” humor.
