Behold The Walking Dead Spoof Trailer (“The Walking Deceased”)!

The Walking Dead, the post-apocalyptic zombie horror drama television series, is not easy to Spoof. But this funnier-than-funny spoof trailer was nailed big-time. Dave Sheridan (star of Scary Movie and A Haunted House) has done a fine acting job on this made-for-TV spoof Trailer – “The Walking Deceased”. Yes, it’s a major ripoff of The Walking Dead but that’s the point — to make it a strong lookalike of The Walking Dead!

As all of The Walking Dead fans and addicts know, the popular TV series was developed by Frank Darabont. And it’s based on the comic book series “The Walking Dead” by Robert Kirkman, Tony Moore, and Charlie Adlard. It’s flat-out, weird-out zombie fiction. The Walking Dead stars Andrew Lincoln as Rick Grimes (the sheriff’s deputy). The story begins with Grimes essentially awakening from a coma to find a post-apocalyptic world mostly inhabited by zombies (yes, the colorful flesh-eating variety). The story arc is centered on Grimes searching for his family. The Walking Dead is not a very original tale as zombie films go; but everything else about it is quite good including the writing, acting and production.

The Walking Dead is currently in it’s 5th season and AMC has already renewed it for a 6th. TV Critics love this show and it’s been nominated for many awards, including a Golden Globe Award for Best Television Series (Drama) and several Writers Guild of America Awards. Nielsen ratings have been out-of-control for this show and The Walking Dead has surpassed many prior Neilsen cable series records, including a 17.3 million viewer record-holder for its season five opener. And that makes The Walking Dead the most-watched drama series telecast in (basic) cable history.
