Lindsey Reckis, not always the psycho girlfriend, was born in the small town of Springfield, Vermont. She went to Jr. High in Boston, Massachusetts and attended boarding high school in Oregon. While in high school, she started performing sketch comedy about the school’s weekly events that quickly became more popular than the events she was promoting. It was then that she discovered a love and talent for sketch comedy writing and acting. After high school, she lived and traveled in Europe for a year. In 2002 she moved to Los Angeles and began to study acting and comedy while working for various industry professionals. In 2008 after taking the entry-level sketch writing class at the Upright Citizen’s Brigade, she was immediately invited into their coveted master class with Matt Besser. Lindsey Reckis and a few other talented, industry friends, then formed a production company and sketch comedy group called Reckless Tortuga. They filmed some of Lindsey’s sketches, including the psycho girlfriend variety, and put them up on YouTube. In a matter of months, Reckless Tortuga became one of the biggest sketch comedy shows on YouTube with over 6.5 million views and counting.

Lindsey Reckis now writes, acts in (including psycho girlfriend) and produces a weekly sketch comedy video for Reckless Tortuga.
